Serving the Community
The Concerned Care Community Therapeutic Recreation Program has grown from modest roots back in the 70ís to become a flourishing and highly sought after program providing as it does today services for over 500 Intellectually and developmentally challenged persons residing in Clay County.  The program has expanded to include community, social, sports, fitness/wellness, fine arts, and special interests. In conjunction with The Arc of Clay & Platte a residential summer camp and together with 3 local school districts Special Education Classrooms.

In 2012 this program coordinated over 500 opportunities for participants

This is an open program and draws many of its consumers from outside of Concerned Careís residential programs. It differs from basic recreactional programs by promoting the independent functioning of people with disabilities, enhancing their current skills and facilitating the establishment of new skills.

This is a success story that The Arc is proud to be a part of and support financially.
